It's a rare occasion when a movie or book can move me to tears, and even rarer when a song can do it. Maybe it's because the situation documented in bôa's song, "Little Miss," reflected the situation I was in and my feelings about it at the time. The song always touches a certain part of my soul. The Tall Snake EP, while short, is extremely powerful. Three different versions of bôa's hit, Duvet, are included: original, DJ Wasei remix, and the extremely emotional acoustic. I would even dare to say the acoustic version is the definitive version of Duvet. Also included is another song by singer Jasmine's brother, Steve. Two Steps chronicles the distance between two lovers; no matter what the other does, one is always two steps away. Little Miss is my favorite though, for personal reasons. It tells the story of a good hearted girl who's in love with a guy and does anything for him she can, but the guy can't figure out exactly what he wants from her. Jasmine Rodger's powerful voice conveys the characters' feelings throughout the song; the guy is confused about how he feels, while the girl tries to ignore what's going on and show her lover all her love and passion.

Hopefully when bôa releases their North American album early next year, they'll include these gems in the release, as well as the unpublished Drinking. The Tall Snake EP is great music: great anime, great breakup, great period. With song writing like this, no one can go wrong with bôa.
