D Seiyuu Dead
Kaneto Shiozawa, a seasoned Japanese voice actor, succumbed on May 10th from a cerebral hemorrhage after a bad fall at his home. Shiozawa, who was 46 at the time of his death, had been a seiyuu for the past 20 years. Some of his most memorable roles include:
- D in Vampire Hunter D
- Rei in Fist of the North Star
- Goemon in Lupin III: The Fuuma Conspiracy
- Inspector Shiratori in Detective Conan
- Larva in Vampire Princess Miyu
- Ma Kube in Gundam
- Mu (Aries) in Saint Seiya
- Le Cain in Layzner
Shiozawa also provided the voice of Luke Skywalker in the Japanese dub for Star Wars, further building on his accomplished career. His talents will be sorely missed.
