Announcement Frenzies Among Valusoft's Initial D-Flavored Releases

Viz has announced that their release of Rurouni Kenshin Volume 3 has taken the top spot on Bookscan's top 100 graphic novels list for two weeks and counting. Nielsen also listed Kenshin on the top 100 Overall Adult Fiction list, which means that the title is not only the top-selling graphic novel, but also one of the best selling books in the country.
The Right Stuf International, Inc. has appointed Paul A. Wach as its new CFO. Wach, who was formerly CFO at Medfirst Capital Resources of Las Angeles, joined the company as the director of Purchasing and Inventory control in 2002. In his new position, Wach will be responsible for overseeing daily financial matters, including budgeting, vendor affairs, analysis, and collection.
TOKYOPOP and ValuSoft have announced that their joint PC project, Initial D: Mountain Vengeance, has been shipped today. The title allows players to step into the shoes of Takumi (Tak in TOKYOPOP's dub) Fujiwara, or one of seven other racers as they drift through the several tracks taken straight from the popular anime series. Initial D: Mountain Vengeance will carry a suggested retail price of $19.99 US.
Columbia Entertainment has announced that Satoshi Kon's (of Perfect Blue and Millenium Actress fame) Tokyo Godfathers will see DVD release on April 13, 2004. The disc will be a single widescreen DVD and carry a suggested retail price of #25.96 US. Known extras on the disc are a making of featurette, and a freestanding Satoshi Kon character postcard.
ADV Films has announced that they will be releasing the second volume of the Neon Genesis Evangelion Director's Cut DVDs on March 9, 2004. The disc, titled "Genesis Reborn," will be 150 minutes long and carry a suggested retail price of $28.98 US.
Geneon has announced that they will be releasing several new series in he coming months. Gad Guard Volume will see its debut on June 22. R.O.D. TV will see its first volume release on June 29. Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi, Fighting Spirit (Hajime no Ippo), and Gungrave will see a simultaneous release on July 6. All of the mentioned titles will carry a suggested retail price of $29.98 US. Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi and Gungrave will also be available with a collector's box, which will retail for $39.98 US. R.O.D. TV and Gad Guard will have a disc and box release with a suggested retail price of $44.98US.
