Pioneer to Undergo Ownership Change and Name Change
Pioneer Entertainment will be undergoing a name change on October 1, becoming Geneon Entertainment, Inc. On that date, Tokyo-based Dentsu, Inc. will purchase a majority of both Pioneer Entertainment and Pioneer LDC's. The name "Geneon" stems from the words "Generate" and "Eon", which supposedly comes from Pioneer's ability to create new programming with lasting value. Yosuke Kobayashi will keep his position of Geneon Entertainment (USA), Inc.
