Bandai has announced that it will be expanding its .hack line of products with the .hack//ENEMY card game. The game, which will be handled by Decipher, will be loosely based on the other pieces of the .hack franchise.
The game itself will put players in the view of the game's monsters and AI entities that plague the world of the online RPG community, The World. The rules will be easy to learn and allow for fast-paced gameplay that will hopefully further immerse players into the game. The objective is simple: players must accumulate enough "Victory Points" to win the game while keeping opponents from doing the same. The unique structure of the game allows players to collect experience and "level up"to gain new abilities and other benefits.
As a "graduation title" for TCG players, .hack hopes to bring players ino a game that requires strategy, but is nowhere newar as complex as the Lord of the Rings or Star Trek games. Supposedly the games will move quick enough that two to three games can be played in the span of an hour.
Bandai and Decipher are hoping to get .hack//ENEMY into stores this fall, with demos being distributed at Anime Expo, Comic Con, Otakon, CNAnime, and Anime Weekend.
