A-Kon Announcements, Ahoy!
The convention season is still moving steadily ahead as the hustle and bustle of A-Kon greets us for its fourteenth anniversary. While I was unable to attend the convention myself, Anime on DVD has had excellent coverage of the event.
ADV Films led off the event with its latest acquisitions. This time, the company has gotten two very interesting titles in the form of Panyo Panyo DiGi Charat and Aquarian Age. At the moment, ADV has not divulged any details other than the fact that they have these titles, but it won't be too long before we hear a few details.
Next on the convention card was Bandai, who had a shocker, as well as an expected announcement. The first item announced was a Love Hina Movie Box, which will see its release this November. Bandai dropped a bombshell, however, when they announced that they had acquired the 37-episode Cyber Formula television series.
For Pioneer, it was business as usual as they announced their acquisitions of Last Exile and Land Defense Force Mao-chan.
