Bandai Marries MuppetBandai's latest press release talks about their June releases, but also hints at a new license. Listed under the extras for their June 3rd release of Blue Submarine #6 is an exclusive music clip featuring GONZO Digimation's Sentou Yousei Yukikaze (Battle Fairy Yukikaze), a 5 episode OVA that Bandai Visual and Victor Entertainment had a hand in. The Yukikaze (meaning "Blizzard" or "Snow Storm") is an advanced fighter jet which is piloted by Rei Fukui, against an invading alien race. More details are forthcoming (hopefully). The Blue Submarine #6 collector's set will retail for a modest $34.98. Bandai's other June releases are:
In other news: The Gainax front page has a freakishly cute drawing of Evangelion characters Rei, Asuka, Gendo, and Shinji. Apparently they like drawings that put Gendo in a plug suit, for some reason. ;) Right Stuf has unveiled plans to release a Limited Edition Boogiepop Phantom Set on June 17th of this year. The set will contain the 4 disc series, the original soundtrack, the "Music Inspired by Boogiepop and Others" album, an artbox, and other extras such as pencil boards and cards. The box set will retail for $79.99, and will be available at Right Stuf's online store and at Best Buy. Gutsoon! Entertainment has selected Diamond Book Distributors to be the sole distributor of its graphic novel properties to the United States, and also to some worldwide markets in a non-exclusive capacity. Fist of the Blue Sky will be the first of 27 graphic novels to be released in 2003, starting in June. Other titles Gutsoon! plans to release this year in the graphic novel format include City Hunter, First President of Japan, and Slam Dunk.
