New Pioneer Acquisition: Anime News Service reported yesterday that TMS Entertainment has sold video and theatrical rights to Pioneer Entertainment for the 228-episode Lupin III TV series. The deal, which also includes merchandising rights, will last for 7 years.
Yoshiyuki Tomino to Visit New York: In a press release yesterday, it was announced that Yoshiyuki Tomino would attend the Big Apple Anime Fest (BAAF) as an honored guest. Tomino created the popular Mobile Suit Gundam series, and has been involved in other popular titles such as Astroboy and Brain Powerd. Tomino's Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack will be screened at the convention, which is being held over Labor Day weekend.
