Angelo (Chief Editor) — May 25th, 2002 — 9:13 AM

New Bandai Acquisition: Bandai Entertainment, Inc. announced its new acquisition of .hack//SIGN at E3 Tuesday, along with Bandai's games division's acquisition of the game of the same name. .hack//SIGN features directing by Kouichi Mashimo (Noir, Irresponsible Captain Tylor), writing by Kazunori Ito (Ghost in the Shell, Patlabor), and character designs by the famed Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Wings of Honneamise).

ADV hosts killer contest: ADV Films is hosting a rather original contest for their upcoming Lady Death movie release. Entrants are to design their own tombstone. The grand prize is to have your name inscribed in a tombstone shown in the movie, and to receive an animation cel of that scene. See ADV's site for more details.

Pioneer Elaborates on X: Pioneer has added the X TV Series to its "Coming Attractions" list, and provided a bit more information on the title. As many were hoping, the first DVD will contain the OVA "Episode 0", which served as a pilot to the rest of the series. The first volume will hit the streets September 24th of this year, both as a standalone DVD release and a collector's edition with artbox.

Pioneer has also provided information on its upcoming release of Vandread: The Second Stage. The first volume, "Survival", will also hit the streets Sept. 24th with similar treatment as X (standalone and with collector's box).
