Claymore's Night of Sharp Decline
FUNimation announced that it has obtained the rights to Claymore. Currently, no release details have been revealed. Claymore is a 2007 26-episode fantasy series based on Norihiro Yagi's manga of the same title.
Anime on DVD reports that John Sirabella, CEO of Media Blasters, reveald plans to release Night Head Genesis.
According to ICv2, sales of North American anime DVDs fell by over 20% in 2007. The number of North American releases also decreased by 21% last year. ICv2 appraises the American anime market's current value at roughly $275-300 million US. This total is roughly half the $550 million value of the anime market's peak in 2003. The manga market, on the other hand, has remained strong, though sales are beginning to slow. The manga market's issues stem from over-proliferation, as publisher predictions place 33 volumes of manga hitting stores every week.
