Production I.G. Merges with Mag Garden
Production I.G. announced plans to merge with manga publisher Mag Garden. The merger will cause Mag Garden to be absorbed into Production I.G. Production I.G.'s decision to merge stems from the sluggish anime DVD market, as well as the unsustainable DVD-only business. Mag Garden cites declines in manga magazines as customers shift to online services as its reason for the merge. The merger will go into effect on December 1, 2007.
